Hey guys. Looking at getting a friend a PC that's main purpose would be for gaming. The games will be the like of CSGO, dead by daylight and other popular steam games.

He's got 10K to spend and I'm a bit out of it. I've been checking wootware/rebel tech.

Any recommendations of what u should go for. A decent headset would also be required. No monitor needed but a new KB and mouse will be required.

Thanks all

Check evetech some good pricing there. I've had no issues dealing with them.

Does he have anything else he can use like a case, PSU, hard drive etc?

R10k is budget that does not really work well as it sits somewhere between a entry system and a decent 1080p system. I'm ignoring what you said wrt the games because as soon as he gets a new pc he's gonna try the aaa titles. R12-14k would be ideal if he could stretch it as that would give him a great system.

I'll have a look and see what his money can buy and report back tomorrow some time.

Check the bundles Ravi is selling on Carb.

One of those bundles with something like a RX 470 or 1060 3GB then just add the rest, might have to stretch the budget by R1000 or so.

carbonite.co.za, One reseller was selling gtx 960's for R2199 new.

For between R7000 and R8000 you can get a i7 4790, motherboard 8GB RAM combo and a RX 470/480 or GTX 1060 3GB/6GB.

Depending on the GPU you add that leaves R2000 - R3000 for a case, PSU, SSD and peripherals.

He can save a R1100 by going for a i5 4690, that leaves R3000 - R4000 for the above mentioned.

I would definitely go cheaper on the CPU and spend every spare cent on graphics. That carbonite 960 is cheap and fast if it hasn't sold yet.
