My old nVidia 8500GT recently gave the ghost, and I'm now looking at the ATI 5770.
My PC specs:
4GB RAM
Dual Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6Ghz
Win 7 64Bit.

Will it be worth it to upgrade to the 5770, in terms of, will the rest of my specs still allow me to play future games properly ( Good Graphics+ Settings----Not where everything had to be set to low like on my 8500GT)

Thanks!

Rest is fine imo, the CPU could maybe do with an upgrade later.

For example GTA IV, is very CPU reliant and afaik you need a quad to get really good performance out of it (your CPU does exceed the min requirements though I'm sure). More later games will probably need faster CPUs as well.

I'm not sure if the 5770 will be powerfull enough for you, that depends on resolution obviously, you can wait for more advice and read some reviews in the mean time.

E4700 will be slight bottleneck for 5770 but will still work decently just dont expect to run everything on max with aa.

Newer games love quad cores so have a look for a 2nd hand 775 quad as a lot of guys are upgrading to the i series.

It will be a massive improvement but ya that cpu needs upgrading to play the latest games. As mentioned games are becoming more core reliant with all the console port so get the 5770 but save for a new quadcore.
