Samsung, LG, Sony, Sinotec, Hisense... take your pic. Personally I prefer the panel on the Samsung for gaming as colours are rich and pixels are compact giving a smooth image. Some of the cheaper TV's may even outperform or be just as good as Samsung but they may cut down on certain features. If you can afford a slim LED TV then it's even better because those do have better image quality and other features like Smart TV.

thx for the answer, will rephrase my question, which is the best tv with the lowest input lag, anyone here that has experience with there tv connected to their pc's ?

Complex question, if you're comparing picture quality, lag and price. Particularly as lag and picture quality are subjective. displaylag.com is a good reference regarding lag. If it's lag above all else, PC monitors > TV's

Plasma best for gaming.

I'm using a Samsung 46D6600. The panel is 400mhz and I haven't noticed any lag at all. I've played Xbox on 60hz screens and didn't notice any lag either. I tend to use my Xbox controller on my pc when the pc is hooked up to my TV.

PS, will still keep my monitor, but for movies and some games - xbox controller specific would like to get a tv

Yep, location changes only.

You're going to need to to a little reading up on this stuff. Neither the 400mhz or 60hz numbers have anything to do with input lag. They refer to refresh rate. Also it's probably 400hz and not 400mhz and the value of 400 is strictly a marketing thing.

The alphabets are region specific. The EH series is very basic. It's okay for an entry level TV but the ES and F series are faster and give a smoother experience. My advice is if you can afford a slim LED TV, get it.

Faster for what? And how does this relate to gaming and input lag?

Faster to display graphic detail. Some TV's just skip the finite detail and obviously input lag is lesser on the later models but it's a negligible point.

Also check if the TV has a 'game mode' function - this will bypass their image processing giving you much faster input for gaming.

You know the over saturation usually goes away when yo uput the TV in gaming mode to minimize input lag?

The Xbox (or Playstation) only outputs at 60Hz refresh maximum. The TV only accepts 60Hz maximum. 1080p is a 60Hz standard. Additional frames are inserted by the TV using its internal processing if you set it above 60Hz. There is no additional graphic detail from the source above 60Hz.
Lag differences will be negligible for most people, except for gamers relying on tight timing in certain games (like Call of Duty). It is definitely not true that newer TV's have less input lag. Refer to displaylag.com

Would this be good enough for my needs ? I cant seem to find any info on the response time, but it does have a game mode.......

Surely of you are looking to game on a TV as opposed to a PC monitor, input lag should not be on your list of concerns, no? How bad does input lag have to be before it becomes a factor on a telly? If you play with 30ms pings on a TV with 10ms response times, what's the problem?

I use an LG lm6710 for my gaming but the TV is a bit too close as this crappy apartment doesn't give me much space to play around with. With that said, my eyes get really tired from time to time. I lowered the contrast but I know that if the TV was placed further away then my problem will be resolved

Response Time? well, it doesn't bother me at all. I've never seen it lag.

Sorry to say, but there's nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.

I'll come up with something of more substance, OP.

well when i race on my monitors and enable vsync for example some race sims has a small delay to my wheel-controller i notice.
Now i wont be using it for racing but games like AssCreed, GTA, Skyrim etc, what i dont want is a delay to my xbox controller when i play...
ive never had experience with a pc to TV - gaming before, why im askin :)
