Not that I can help, but I assume you want to prepare a dish with gammon, as opposed to making it?
Simplest recipe:
If smoked.. just take it out of its packaging, put it into slow cooker on auto, close lid, go sleep & wake up to a delicious perfectly cooked cooked gammon 8 hours later..
For non-smoked I prefer adding some spices & maybe a bit of fluid - juice, apple cider or even Pepsi works.
Sometimes if I want to impress I concoct an elaborate orange/pineapple glaze, or score & scorch the skin under the grill for a bit of a crunch.
Only thing better than a good gammon is a good gammon with lots of crackling..
Personally, being lazy, I mostly just cook out a bit of the fat under the skin leaving it almost natural.
Either way, gammon doesn't mind, gammon has few rules, gammon just wants to make us happy.
That's why gammon loves being thinly sliced & slathered with English mustard sauce on homemade bread..

I normally just put it in the oven at 150° for 3 hours, together with some potatoes that are cut in half. After the first hour I add whole peeled onions.
I normally cut the Garmmon into paper-thin slices on the electric food-cutter once it is cooked.
This recipe is a classic Christmas style gammon:

Soaked overnight in brine and herbs, studded with cloves and basted with honey and cider. Can't go wrong.
