Garage Door Motor advice

I need some advice or input, hopefully from people in the industry.

I want to have a motor install on my roll up garage door and so far the 2 brands i found mostly used are either Centurion or ET.
Which one would be recommended?

I know Centurion is the most widely used between the 2, but the two point that the specific ET model im looking at (DC Blue Absolute) has is very enticing.
It has support for Lithium batteries which the Centurion doesnt (or doesnt specifically mention) and that it can run without a battery, which the Centurion cant.

And the placement of the batteries on the ET makes it possible to utilize larger or even 1 battery (not a deal braker but nice to have)

But at the same time, dont want to spend money on a motor that will give me problems and is unreliable.

Any input would be much appreciated.
 
Following - have an issue with existing roll-up door motors that seem to have been a botched fit by the previous home owner (can't determine the brand/model), and unsure what option is better.
 
not a centurion fan , the gate motors are crap. dont know about there garage door units. But there after sales support and parts are expensive
 
So, you find that sliding gates motors, tend to be centurion and garage doors ET and then you have to add a remote reciever to one or the other to have only one remote.
 
Only install if you have top quality roll-up doors or you'll be wasting your money and frustrations.
I have the ET Blue x 2 with 1 Lithium battery on each.

The motors are fine and work well but the installer for the doors and motors used cheapish Chink doors and their springs and runner cords are shyte.
 
The ET roll-up door is technically better

But, check the door. Does it move freely, not move from side to side? Are the channels secure and attached to the wall at frequent intervals

The motor rotates the shaft, so when closing, the door must drop freely or it will jam. To test, close the door about 1/4 of the way and close it by pushing gently on the centre of the door (not pulling it down) and push it down to closed. It must move freely

Normally, there is a spring or two springs to assist the opening action. In other words, the force needed to open should be the same as when closing it

One 24 volt lithium-ion battery is more than adequate

Luckily the the door and everything is brand new, like 2 weeks old and works great.

And the one 24v lithium battery is exactly what is was thinking.

Now i just need to find a local installer that has exp with ET garage motor in Bloem.

Can you add a Centurion remote to and ET motor?
Would be great if i only had to have 1 and not 2

If not centurion, then what? I have a hansa motor, that most people have never seen and I want to have it replaced. I'm tired of the weird things it does

There is a receiver you buy.

A security store should be able to assist. They programme the remotes. You just have to connect it.

But the installer will assist as this is a common request.
 
I got two et roll up motors. Easy to install. I connected a smart life wifi switch on it. Just remember to put that metal bar on the door.
 
So i asked a few installers locally and those that have had exp with ET agree that they are good products, but getting replacement parts are a nightmare.
Anyone had any problems getting spare parts?

I contacted NiceForYou with regards to spares availability but haven't heard a peep from them in days. Doesn't install me with a lot of confidence considering the lack of response.
Ill give them a call tomorrow and ask for any local suppliers in BFN.

No point in buying a great product with zero after sales support.
