Hi,

I have been in chats with multiple people on the whatsapp support line. I do not feel they have the knowledge to assist me with this issue.

I have transferred from ComX to Afrihost at the end of December. The backbone is running on Frogfoot Garden Route Networks. Frogfoot purchased Route Networks last year.

With my previous ISP it used to be PPPOEE and it was stable.

Since switching to afrihost I have tried DynamicIP without success and recently I have been told to use PPPOEE.

This seems to work, but it stops working at midnight. I then need to go back into the router settings and change it to PPPOEE again. Fill in the details and apply. When I do this and log in to the router it automatically changed to Dynamic DNS (probably some black magic on your side).

I cannot get disconnected each week and go through this process. My entire home network fails and the ip address on router changes (It shows a huawei router login page which is really odd. I do not have this device on my network and feels more like some cheap frogfoot connection setup).

I need someone with knowledge to assist me to resolve this issue. It is not something on my side as my network is basic and just using the router that you provided. My internet is now working, but it will fail again Sunday midnight.

Please see previous whatsapp chats. Please pay close attention to the PPPOEE vs DynamicIp and message from Frogfoot. I switched to afrihost for better prices, but this issue is forcing me to reconsider. Please see this as my last hope.

Hi there.

Thank you for reaching out.

Please Pm us your details and we will be able to assist.

Thanks, but @AfriNatic is assisting. It seems to be the TR-069 policy overriding my PPPOEE details on router every time the router restarts

This is the exact same issue I had between Christmas and New Year. I was also eventually told to go PPPoE. It worked but my Port Forwarding didn't work. They said they fixed it, so will change over tomorrow and see how stable it is.

The frustration is that not one of the 1st line support people, could grasp what I was telling them, when describing my issue. They kept asking me to power my ONT and router off and on, from the script they are given, instead of listening and trying to understand.

I ended up having to buy R100's of Mobile data for my family and the cherry on top is their prices are also increasing from this month! And no response from their Accounts Department.
