Garmin 2460LT traffic subscription help

Hi everyone.

Purchased the Garmin 2460LT this afternoon. After a very strange registration process on their web site, I plugged the device into my car, and took a drive (with the FM receiver built in), and looked for the traffic button on the 'view map' screen. Nothing popped up. (I stay in cape town, bellville area).

So I got home, plugged the device into my PC, and went to garmins 'myDashboard' section. Clicked on FM subscription extra, but there I have to pay $40 for the Premium Traffic for South Africa! I'm confused...can anybody please explain how this service is supposed to work, or how I can verify that my garmin is activated for receiving traffic..

Seems like a very cumbersome solution. Any ideas / tips / help?

I take it you registered on the www.garmin.com website.
That is restricted to the USA and Europe.

To register your unit successfully, you will need to go to www.garmap.co.za, and register your unit there.
There are various options available for the Traffic subscription.

You can also register as a member of their forum, as there is hardly a GPS related question that their members won't be able to answer.
If they don't know the answer, they will get it for you.
