Hi all,

Has anyone used the Garmin Mobile X10 with a phone other than the Nokia N70? I am sure that the Nokia N80 will work well too.

Does anybody know if you could use the Garmin Mobile X10 with the Sony Ericsson P990i?

Regards,
Tyrone

Only works on N70! Tried everything else got no where,

The GPS10x or Garmin Mobile 10 works on all Nokia S60 handsets v2.8 and upwards so from 6680 to N70, N73,N80, E61i...

R 1599 all inclusive

Right ! The above mentioned phones are S60 v3 and they do work, we've sold close on 100 of them, I've personally used the Garmin on the E61, E50, N80 & N73.

And how may ask did you get them to work?
Coz it comes with a SD card (the big one)

Are we talking about the Garmin Mobile 10, you can get it either on a Mini-SD card (which is a micro-sd in a mini-sd adapter), Micro SD with SD adapter or RS-MMC with SD adapter

Is it a plain white box, with one lable saying Mobile 10?

Works for sure on a N73. If it came bundled with a N70 it will have the maps and software on a reduced-sized mmc card. It will not fit any of the later phones like the N73, N80 etc. because they take a mini sd card. So I think the problem isn't with the GPS unit, but with the type of card that the maps are supplied on.

Yip correct!! But then you cant load the SW on a mini sd card and then try to load the maps on a N73/N80 because they a S60 V3 and if you do try it you get an error saying no symbian support!

It comes in a white box, when ordering you state which card to be supplied on, it comes with a recovery CD.

The 10X package has now been released compatible with WM handsets and PDA's

Lol what crap, WM using Garmin??? Have you used a P3300 GPS? Thats the best GPS ive seen on anymobile, they even use the real macdonalds sign when you drive past a mac ds!!

But maybe some people would like it I dunno.

Agreed with you on the HTC P3300. Got a chance to play around with one today and it is absolutely brilliant. It even has a mouse and a "wheel" to control the phone instead of a standard 5-way navigation joystick. It is really awesome and I can highly recommend this phone. It's also very slim.

That's right. Apparently Garmin don't have maps for S60 V3. Forgot to mention that although the GPS unit works on a N73, it is used with Route 66 and not Garmin maps.

I will try and explain this as simple as possible,

We have sold the Garmin Mobile 10 for Nokia Series 60 handsets v2.8 and v3, so E61, N73, N70 you name it, we have also had two customers who have bought and used on the Tytn, however a 3rd party app was installed,

The P3300 uses the Navigon maps, apparently seem to be similar to the Navteq.

Do we all now understand,

The E50 comes with the garmin Maps but with the Nokia LD-3W receiver as it was sold as a bundle.

The Garmin Mobile 10 package for Nokia sells for R 1799, the GPS 10x package is about R 2299 which supports all PDA/Smartphone devices,
