I have a swing gate which is linked to an intercom (street side). Visitors can push the button on the intercom, which sounds the chime on the handset receiver inside my house. I then press a button on the handset unit which opens the swing gate.

I have a use case for needing to open the gate when I am away from home, so thought a Shelly 1 wired into the handset receiver would do the job.

I had someone do the wiring for me because I've made some mistakes with this sort of thing in the past. I can now open and close the gate remotely, however the chime for the intercom does not work.

Perhaps one of you smart people (yes it's a pun) can spot an issue?

For the Shelly1 - For DC powered, it looks like you flip the positive and negative

For the Kocom - The lock trigger wiring is independent of the intercom wiring. So the question is : Is the intercom still working i.e. can you hear someone talking via the handset ? Multi-core comms cable is notoriously fragile. I'm wondering if there isn't now a break in one of the cables connected to the intercom

Thanks - yes, I can hear via the handset. Agreed, the cable is extremely fragile. I'll take another look behind the handset to see if I can spot anything out of place.
