Hi,

Not quite an automation question, but I feel like the guys in this forum should know what I am talking about :) apologies if it sounds like a doff question.

My gate had a Rx1-150 shelro receiver. nothing fancy.

I bought two remotes . watched a youtube video how to program a remote. easy as pie right.

So here is the weird thing, my remote has 4 different colour buttons. I wanted white to be for teh gate (same as my existing remotes). but for some weird reason the receiver doesn't accept it. it accepted only the green button.
Then i tried another new remote (i also bought a 6 colour one). same story, only 1 button is accepted.

So my work around is to pop open the remote and switch the colours.

But what I would like to know, is this behavior expected? is only 1 button supposed to work on a remote? I assume they run on different frequencies, and the receiver can only listen for one of them? I thought the idea of the receiver learning was that it maps to any output frequency

(as i said, absolutely a noob question. lol)

That's sort-of my setup. One (1 channel) receiver for alarm zone 1, one for alarm zone 2, one for gate 1, one for gate 2, one for panic and one for the garage door. I bought a six button remote and it works just as you expected.

You definitely bought the Sherlo six button remote as there are others that look very similar?

yup. all shelro
cool, so im not going nuts then. the solution then is to swap button colours.

my older remote has different positions then that activate the gate. im guessing its remote dependent

Sounds weird..... maybe try resetting (clearing) the receiver memory and start afresh (if you can)? Haven't had such a case before. Try putting a fresh battery in the remote, or try another remote and see what happens.

I'm having exactly the same issue.
My new remotes are learning perfectly on the alarm system, but not on the gate.
FYI the alarm system has an older sherlo receiver. The gate has the newer one where you don't have to open the lid to access the learn button.
The old remotes still work fine with no issue.
