Gatsbys

Not sure if someone has mentioned...but we buy them from Jimmy's Killer Fish and Chips in Melrose opposite Melrose Arch...yum!

EDIT: we buy the JK47 from them - roll with slap chips, chakalaka, onions, lettuce, polony and russians.

They do also sell a Great Gatsby - never had one though.

I really don't consider, from what is described above, that a Gatsby is "food". It sounds horrible and it is frightening if that is considered a part of our "heritage" and a "delicacy". Frankly, I'd rather eat tripe.

Tripe? Are you crazy? A gatsby is all the good stuff on one roll.

Bokdrol, in all honesty: It might not look that good at first glance. But MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS GOOD, once you have tasted it /faint.

Tripe?! Have you even had a Gatsby before?

That's one thing I seriously miss from SA - a Gatsby. Nothing even close here and its impossible to make it yourself. All my attempts have failed :(

Doubt you miss our Pora Fish and Chips though. You get AMAZING Fish and chips in the UK /drool

Full house!
- big roll
- chips
- cheese
- eggs
- steak
- sauce
- some salad (Yip... they add some healthy too)

Been doing it at home and the egg is a must. Some fried Salami and Vienna's adds to the meaty feel. Long rolls can be sourced from Checkers Hyper. Lettuce only salad you need.
