The South African public has been overcharged to the tune of 321% for the construction of the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project, according to Outa.

What I found quite disturbing In the article is the statement that SANRAL did not seem to have a ballpark figure available for budgeting purposes or as an indicator to measure tenders against. Everybody in the business of infrastructure construction has a rule of thumb cost estimate!

That's a foreign concept to them.

It's only for the road. The GFIP costs likely raises it to 1000%.
