Gauteng to launch its first drone programme

Why do infrastructure development need a drone programme

Sounds like another scheme for tenderpreners to get rich

Africa, zero success rate.

Oh FFS. It's more efficient and cheaper than using manned aircraft. Nearly all construction companies use drones to document their building developments. Most governments are moving to cheaper drones too for surveys of smaller geographical footprints.

have you seen the laws they bringing out now? you need to go on a course in order to pilot a drone for "commercial" purposes,
so pray do tell? how are they going to enforce this? ask for licenses when you buy a drone?
ask you to pay landing fees? drone tax?

again, just another scheme for rich tenderprenurs to get rich from Goverment taxes,
sad but true,

just like the next scheme for autonomous cars, they'll be banned in SA, till some smart tenderprenur gets a contract,
then miraculously they'll be legal again,

think Im wrong? VOIP was ILLEGAL in SA until some guy, got a contract and managed to convince Telkom to Unban VOIP.
same story with Vaping, same story with many other things technology related, sure other forumites will jump in here.

story of Africa, zero success rate, no wonder were being left Far behind when it comes to new tech and Developments.
