Wi-Fi network of South Africa's richest province is shrinking

The Gauteng e-Government Department has gone quiet about the progress of its free Wi-Fi network expansion and broader Internet connectivity upgrades.

In fact, its two most recent updates suggest that this project might be in trouble, as the number of sites covered has declined in recent years.

Perhaps the workaround could be for the premier, Panyaza Lesufi, to encourage those without to find a hotspot at a hotel?
