Yes, they are doing test rides at the moment... It has to do like a million runs before they can go live.

We need bullet train routes across the country which in theory should be more economical and faster than flying.

I wonder if they will attempt to break the SA speed record (245km/h) in the gautrain just out of interest sake although it's max rated speed is not quite close enough.

They been testing for a few months now, a friend of mine whos an engineer for them had to find out why parts of the track broke a wheel of the train.... seemed some parts were not welded together properly...

yeah, its been driving up and down midrand, you probably took the pic there close to Gallagher estate?

Bullet train - Guateng -> Cape Town -> Durban -> Guateng

DBN-CPT, DBN-FS, FS-CPT, FS-JHB, FS-EL, FS-PE

The FS could provided a nice hub and spoke arrangement unless we just say feckit and build direct routes :D
