all i can say is wow! ... when it is so real it is scary ... quation is how much more "real" can you get to this?

Even though it says 8800ultra ... works more than fine on my 8800gtx ... sure it would on the gts as well ... u dont need DX10 for this demo ...

EDIT: Imagine they created an entire human model of a very sexy female ... (interactive of course :D)

Human Head: GeForce 8800 Ultra
(106.8 MB)

You know we live in S.A right? LOL! I wouldn't download that just to see what it is :p

Demos
Human Head: GeForce 8800 Ultra
(106.8 MB)
Minimum System Requirements: GeForce 8800 Ultra, Windows XP, ForceWare Drivers 97.44 or higher, 512MB system memory, 256MB video memory

tera we live in south africva but we dont have a 200 mb cap man

plz 100 mb is nothing

Hey, for me with a measly 3GB cap, 100mb is a lot :p ;) :D

I don't even have a Geforce 8, so it will be useless :p

Those are always fun, especially off a Cover CD on NAG or PCF, but 100mb to see a head isn't the best use of bandwidth.

Its an OpenGL 2.0 demo that shows of G8x power. Its workd on an 8800GTS just fine and even on 8600GTS (SLI!!!)
Looks very good, but I do agree 100MB for a head is allot

how much should a life like head be?

im pretty sure that way the technology is going games are going to be released on more than 1 dvd or on something like a blu ray disk in the future

i doubt these 4 gig games will be around for long

100 gig games anyone? 5 blu ray disk's to install

so i dont think 100mb for 1 head is alot, imagine GTA rendered like this

That model has high res, detail textures. you could generate similar quality using points and using fewer and smaller textures.
The game need not be 100GB, Most of the effects are maths, from generating specular, diffuse, HDR, offsets, etc...
GTA rendered like this would not really be larger than 15GB even.

just downloaded it on my capped IS account.. its obviously like cached or something.. cause it goes at 400k constant.

Outta curiosity, how should it run at 1280x1024 on a 8800gts 320?

just fine (can't give exact frame count but 28fps or so) why?

hmm.....my pc must really be lacking in something, in vista I barely have a frame count at 1280x1024 in Vista, in XP i have to run it at 800x600 and it still lags a lot.... :(

Just used fraps now and in XP at 1280x1024 with 1.5 multisampling it is between 1-2 fps....

Something is obviously going wrong with the setup. What driver version you using? Also make sure that in the CP you've selected "let application decide"

Am using the latest for XP (cant remember number) and then am using 158.43 for vista, another thing is I am using 1 gb DDR2 400 ECC Reg Ram (ECC disabled atm) but could this maybe be the cause?

no not at all. That frame rate is far too low... I can't actually think what's happening unfortunatley. Maybe try re-install the driver and start computer in diagnostic mode and see what's happening.
