I saw this in a Chinese forum, that guy works for ASUS Taiwan.
E6600 400x9, P5WDH Deluxe 2G Corsair DDR2 800
GeForce 8800GTX 128 shader units, 768MB 384bit 1.8GHz GDDR4, Core colcok 575MHz, shader colock 1350MHz
3dmark6 1280x1024: 12xxx
3dmark05 1024x768: 19xxx
 
lol.. wow. mind posting a link, we could get Google to do its silly Chinese translating, which doesn't usually work too well.. But at least we could read it then.
 
Where? From the confirmed specs it said GDDR3 @ 900MHz not GDDR4.
I'll wait and see, as I can't fully trust these numbers
 
I don't know it's GDDR3 or GDDR4. I think GDDR3 will better. And another thing is 88GTX supports NV Turbo cache tech, GPU can take an additional 128bit XXXMBs memory from system.Because 512bit native on board RAM is very difficult for PCB design.
 
We will see it in the middle ten days of November. I think it will go to us at first time, it's an important thing.
 
Would have been nice to see results from a CPU running default clocks.
3.6Ghz Core2 is going to influence the speed heavily. The same numbers could go down to 16K in '05 on an FX64 :/
In which case it's not so impressive at all... :(
I was hoping to see a 3DM06 score in the region of 15K~16K, while 12K is respectable, it could be 12,9K or 12,001 points.

Maybe driver will be updated by the release date :/
 
I wonder what this monster will cost in South Africa?

*If it's anything close to R7000, I'd rather save the money and buy a nice plasma!
 
I've been saving up for a while now. But I'll wait for the price to drop below R5000 before I buy one. Also depends on what the reviewers say.

But damn! They say running two in SLI would need 800W!! And it's also 30cm long!! :eek:

Good thing I got a CM Stacker. :cool:
 
Get a Conroe Quad core chip, 4GB RAM, 4 WD Raptors (one as Windows drive, two running in RAID & one as backup) + a Geforce 8800 and you'll have THE ultimate rig & a system that will last you for a while!

My ultimate rig for running Vista!
 
Nah that won't work. :P There no 2GB PC-8000 sticks, so for performance you stuck with 2x1GB sticks. 4WD raptors, nah I'll go for the Samsung solid state 32GB drives :) No spin up time, no data access delays, now that's fast. I'd save the $1,200 the Quad core would cost, get a single E6700, a Prommy unit with a Chily1 head, R507 and the upcoming NF680 SLi board from DFI.
That's good for 510Mhz (510x10 is pretty fast). One Fortran 700Watt PSU and single water cooled 8800GTX. Now that would put out massive numbers at 4.4GHz* :) Then buy pacman 3D to round it off

Not forgetting OCZ VX2 PC8800 ram @ 4-4-4-12 1T :)
 
Yes, the Samsung solid state drives - that is simply amazing hardware!

I hope that Samsung will increase the capacity, because 32GB is not gonna get me very far, but, if you use the solid state drive as your Windows OS drive, it will be awesome.

Pricewise, the Samsungs look very expensive, but with more companies jumping on the technology, prices will come down.
 
Yeah and we don't have to worry about cooling the hard drives which can be a bore. :/
I think maybe by 2008/2009 we'll start seeing drives at out local suppliers and stuff. That would be great even if it's 32GB at first. Swap file for OS would be much much quicker than it is now. :)

lucky you can now get 1800watt PSU's at esquire for R1500 rand
