It is such a pity the South African pricing structure for these awesome cards take us to the cleaners.

My birthday is up soon and I have already hinted to the missus that she will make me a very happy man if she got me a 9800gt.

Will not be wasting money on a basically dual 8800 card, shall stick to my little 3850 or bigger brother 8800GT (crossfiring this week at less than half the price for maybe 20% less perf, i will take it)

Massive card with heavy power requirements and even better cooling needed if going by the 8800gt (GX2 is just two 8800's nothing special and we all know how hot they get)

will this card be significantly heavier on power as compared to running HD3870x2 or crossfire (3850 or 3870) or sli (8800GT, GTX, GTS or Ultra)?

As for the cooling needs, you think nVidia will just slap on 2 8800GTs and reduce the performance a bit and let whatever 8800GT heat issues continue?

We shall have to wait and see when it is eventually tested, i would say more heat and power as they are still using 65nm tech whilst AMD is down to 55

I hope they get decent drivers out at launch. That was a major issue with the 7950gx2. I will wait for the 9800gtx.

Thought its 2x8800GTS Cores stuck into that beast.

Price expected to be R4500-R5500

But its more than 30% Faster than the 8800 Ultra XXX so its worth it :p
Only Bad thing is Nvidia is still being a bunch of noobs by not having DX10.1 support with this card.

Thats the only reason i would not buy the card.
