General Gaming Discussion Thread

Saw we could finally make backups of games if we had a certain firmware.

Turns out my Bluray drive was the wrong revision.
4 hours to get it working again.

Said screw it and got my Xdoos 360 jailbroken.

Now I can keep my OWNED games safe.

Was a bad day:

So I replaced the HDD in my PS4 with another 1TB HDD as I thought it had been in there long enough.

I performed the system software reinstall and restored my old settings and games and everything seemed to be going fine.

However now when I download say a 2GB update file for Gran Turismo 7, the download goes without hassle, but the copying takes FOREVER and ever (I mean an hour and longer just to copy 2 gigs of data!!), whereas before it used to sail along as normal.

Could this be the new HDDs fault? It is a very thin 2.5" HDD not the fat one like the original HGST (I think it was the original at least as I bought the PS4 secondhand) thicker one that Sony included.

There's no way I can continue like this, so should I just put the original HGST HDD back in or should I try again with another 1TB that I bought. I bought two 1TBs, one to backup stuff and another as a replacement in case the HGST broke.

Was it a new HDD?

Super p*sst now....

Ordered Stray for Switch 1 for daughter's Bday from Takealot. They delivered wrong game today, "Two of us".
If I knew they gonna F up this bad I would have ordered from Pwnd instead, sadly If I order from them now it will arrive after :(

And yes I know its on sale digitally. Wanted the physical for a reason.

Only thing I can think to confirm is if you could try another disk then.

Disaster. Put the original HGST HDD back in and now it is also going at a snail's pace.

Not sure what happened... downloading is fast, but then copying slows down to a crawl.

For instance, I downloaded the 2 gig update for Gran Turismo 7 in a few minutes and then it started copying, but after 10 minutes it was still at 0% copied!

Any ideas?

Blow real hard to get dust out?

This is kinda messed up. I can only think of a bad contact somewhere.
