Good morning all,

We’ve got an I.T. position immediately available for a young/recently qualified person in Pretoria East. The duties will include client desktop troubleshooting, support and maintenance, as well as some networking, database and server administration and the opportunity to learn and grow in the MIS development industry.

To be considered you will need:
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate
- Equivalent Tertiary Diploma, Certificate or Degree in a Computer field of study
- Valid code 8/B driver’s license and own transport
- Experience is not essential; however, you will need excellent knowledge of:
o PC Hardware – Troubleshooting and repair
o Networking (Microsoft) – Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Domains, etc.
o Microsoft Operating systems (Desktop, Printer and Server) and environments – Troubleshooting and setup
o Microsoft Office
o At least a basic knowledge of Websites, MS SQL and Access databases
- The following skills are not essential, but will be highly advantageous:
o Programming skills in one or more: JAVA, .Net VB, Python, HTML5
o SQL Queries
o Android development
o Web development
o In depth knowledge of IIS and Internet protocols such as FTP, Https, POP3, IMAP, SMTP
o An excellent general knowledge of IT related topics and new technology
o Basic Unix/Linux
- The person must be good under pressure, learn new things fast and be able to think on their feet.

This is an entry level position ideal for someone just entering the job market. The salary will depend on qualification (and experience if any) and will be market related. There is however a lot of room for growth for the right candidate.

Please send CVs to riaan{at}psp.co.za before 11 March 2016 13:00.

There is currently only a need for tech support. However, it is a development company which is growing rapidly, meaning if the candidate has some background/knowledge in development he or she may become involved with the systems side as well with the appropriate compensation.

Salary will be highly dependent on the qualifications of the candidate and is negotiable.

Hi Gemwolf,

Would a ccna certificate, msca windows server 2012(currently studying) and a background in web be good enough?

Hi NetMpofu - there is no minimum qualification (except obviously matric) - as long as it is a qualification that gave the applicant a strong IT background. A better qualification will simply mean a higher score for the applicant in the candidate selection process.
