You sure sure? I dont trust Plasma tbh. HD ready (forgot ps3 has bluray

), the glass cover, burn in on the screen or am i just being pedantic ?
Lol...
Yes I am very, very sure.
Plasma has much faster response times.
Much!
HD Ready isn't an issue. If you sit more than 1.5 - 2m away from a ±40" TV, you won't get the full effect of FHD. Sure, if you are connecting to a PC to
work on, you will notice the increased real estate. 95% of content is HD Ready or less, especially PS3/Xbox, HD movies, etc.. HD DSTV is 720p.
Entry plasma's tend to use perspex (I think) instead of glass. And they have anti reflection coating. LCD's are also glossy these days.
Burn-in is not an issue any more, unless you are playing content with static images for hours and hours on end, day after day.
Numbers speak volumes. About 30+ forumites have bought plasma over LCD in the past 6 months. I would say at least 15 - 20 of them were originally set out to buy LCD, because they had the exact same (incorrect) idea of plasma as what you have.
Go to the store and see for yourself. Get them to play SD on all sets. Then we talk.
Remember to stand at viewing distance, because LCD's appear more crisp up close - all levels out when you are further back. You
cannot judge a TV in a store standing 1m away from it.
