General Plasma & LCD discussions

lol I wasn't having a go at you, its just after reading like 10-20 threads u always pop in there with the plasma thing :)

Look at that, more people calling out PostmanPot and more of him trying to defend his position. Really if your case was just plasma for the lower end, do you honestly think there would be this many people calling you out on it, also you must be the only one whose experienced good service from Samsung, as noticing by this forum a lot of people haven't but hey tried that with you last week and it was fobbed off. Really dude just once learn to shut it and stop defending Samsung, it's not like they actually pay you to advertise for them on this forum. Stick to plasma which is fine but over and over we all know what you going to say.

More people? So, what, that's like 5 in total who are vocal about it? Compared with all those who are non vocal about appreciating my input; + all the 30+ forumites who've bought plasmas over the past 6 months over LCD's; + all the 15+ forumites who've PMed me (and continue to do so) thanking me for my help in giving them the best advice for their needs? I think that speaks volumes against the case you think you have?

If my case wasn't plasma at the lower end, would Dolby and TYR and others who likewise profess that plasma whips LCD at the lower end of the market also be called out by "this many" people? Are they also "wrong" and worthy of being called out? Where are all these "people"? Perhaps in your head/dreams?

I haven't ever had to get returns/warranty service from Sansung TV, I clearly stated my experience WRT Samsung PC LCD's. Please try to read properly before formulating your attacks, I'm saying this to safeguard your reputation. Also learn to distinguish between Samsung and Samsung repair agents (who may very well do repairs for LG as well!) as I discredited both numerous times?

I don't need to defend Samsung. Yes you know what I'm going to say, but OP's and new comers don't. So rather shut me out and put me on ignore if it bothers you that I give people good advice, thanks.

My, I did not realise it was the same OP's creating every thread, and that I was repeating good information to the same ears!

At Game/Makro/Cats/Tafelberg/Audiovision: "Hey salesman, please stop telling each customer the same thing, they are all different and I am tired of hearing the plasma/LCD thing!"

Hope that analogy is apt.

Geez - I'm not even here and my name is mentioned :(

Hey!

The same people are here as when you were active here 1+ months ago. They would have also heard "plasma beats LCD at the lower end", which is exactly what you used to say. Your opinion is fact/respected. Just a little reminder. ;)

So LCD beats Plasma at the higher end? Which Samsung LCD's is regarded as higher end?

That's preference and a huge debate.

IMO, some aspects are better on one and some on the other - it depends on the person, what they're going use it for etc. I had a plasma that I sold for LCD and couldn't be happier .... others have had LCD which they sold for plasma and couldn't be happier.

I'm buying my first flat screen TV & my mind is set on a Samsung LA46C650. Will be used for SDTV(TOPTV) & movies via an external HD. Would also like to stream sport instead of watching it on my PC. I do not play online games.

No, but the differences are really so small these days that they are not worth fussing about.

Samsung 6/7 Series LCD are regarded as higher end. But I don't think they can compare to, say, high end Panasonic LCDs.

Plasma wins at SD TV and sport.

LA46C650 46" is a good TV though.

I don't see why you would take that over a PS50C550 50" full HD plasma though. It costs less, is bigger, and is better suited for SD and sport.

So high end Panasonic's are still the best? How do they compare to Samsung in price?

The PS50C550 looks good & is much cheaper than the LA46c650. Will keep it in mind when I put my money down, thanks.

At the moment TOPTV does not have any sport, so I watch rugby online where the quality isn't good in any event.

Pany's FULL HD Plasmas (or 3d) beat everything.
Pioneer Kuros used to be the best.

Then I would rather go for Samsung.

I would tend to agree with you there.

But please, don't tell anyone. Apparently I am the "Samsung employee" because I mention them more than LG. Dear God, don't mention it to Lupus as you'll cause a heart attack!

;)

Lol, mum is the word. ;)

I hear that the 2011 high end Sammies have very dark blacks comparable to the Pannies and Kuro's. Haven't seen any reviewed yet though.
