Did we not tell you that it was reflective?

You also had 7 days to return it (just saying).

PostmanPot with all do respect, i don't need someone to tell me. I could see myself that is reflective. I thought i will be able to live with it, turned out i was wrong. Not a biggie.

Lol you want to sell it but describe it as crap :p
Yes it is crap, that is why i'm selling it. What you want me to say, is great but i don't like the shape of it or how the stand looks like. If it wasn't crap i wouldn't sell it in the first place, before is time for a new one. I'm selling it to a person who is not that picky as i'm that is all.

Sounds like all entry-mid range TVs will be crap for you. Comparing apples and apples, the PS51D550 is a brilliant TV.

If you have/had the budget for top range Panasonic plasma......

Sounds like it and i knew that. You know what is ironic, that i've got the budget, but decided to be stingy for something that i shouldn't be. Well, was a mistake, but again not a biggie. Just to sell this one.

Perhaps try an LCD they aren't as bad as PP makes them out to be, also not as reflectibe.

I gave up after you proclaimed plasma the ultimate in everything, close to curing most deadly diseases too.
By the sounds of it an LCD wasn't even considered and if the budget is enough the LCD will probably beat the ultimate plasma, minus the mirror like problems. Getting a 100hz tv for sport and motion is fine and if he has a lot of SD stuff perhaps a superior CRT would be in order as it handles SD and motion better the plasma and LCD.

My argument is plasma is the ultimate at entry level. Time and time again you display your utter disregard of this fact, after I've clarified my position to you several times. Most who've compared both agree (e.g. Series 5 LCD vs Series 4 plasma; I own both). Those who don't are obsessed with resolution and favour it over plasma's superior picture quality. I have no problem advocating mid-high end LCD.

LCD was not considered by OP because they have experience with some of the best plasma tech. Speak to any proper HT enthusiast, maybe you'll believe them when they tell you what's better.

Hi Lupus, unfortunately LCD and LED are not an option. For me the picture is so cartoon-ish. Lately all my stuff is at least 720p that's why CRT is a no go as well :) The thing is, i thought i will get away with Samsung, but did not work for me. And i wanted to save some buck and to avoid bringing plasma from USA. If we had them here probably i would never buy Samsung in the first place.

Yeah, the Panny xT30 are highly rated, but as many ppl have mentioned, there is no such thing as a perfect/flawless TV. Have been reading some of the chatter regaring the supposed 50Hz bug, not sure how apparent it would be on a DSTV HD HDMI signal?

Game have the Hisense 32" HD Ready LED TV (32k16) for R2899 and Tafelberg Furnishers have the Sharp 32af10n for R2899. Either of these a good deal? Can't find ANYTHING on the Sharp it seems?? Postman where you :D

Not sure pal, have not seen them. Personally would not go for LED backlit LCD, nor for HD Ready considering FHD is the only selling point of entry level LCDs as far as I'm concerned.

All I know is LA32D550 is R500 more. I agree with Tim's advice about already being willing to spend R3k... :)

My money is disappearing before my eyes, so I think I'm going to get the Sharp tomorrow. Yes I'm aware it's not GREAT, but will be good enough for my room. 2 Year Warranty as well. Also Tafelberg have a promotion at the moment, buy something for over R300 and you can spin for R50 off to money back! Friend got a toaster and blender today for R950 and hit the R500 off!

That TV has not once been mentioned on these forums.

No idea on:

Resolution
Media playback
Ports
Sound
PC connectivity/1:1 pixel mapping/disabling of overscan etc.
SD displaying
Blacks
Colours
Menu system

But OK... You've been months without one, and now you must have it, and seemingly cannot go another month or two without it to save for something that is well documented here; tried tested and trusted...

So do so at own risk. ;)

Never been in a situation when you have an amount of money and wish to spend it while you have it otherwise it goes towards an incredible amount of BS over 2 months?
