Not sure? I'm/I'd be happy with high-mid-low drivers, because I know that single driver satellites tend to lack mid?
What do you mean focus on frequencies?
If they're tuned for "high-high, low-high; high-mid, low-mid; high-low, low-low", with drivers for each, then it makes logical sense to me that speakers like this would have the potential to be very accurate? I'm probably making things up here. It's far from the discussion/my position.

Yes - there are a few single driver, but we're speaking about the majority of satellite speakers - as typically if you do get a single driver, it's really budget.
The thing is you're putting off everyone from even listening to a satellite combination with your 'OMG it's horrible! Rather look at the STR500 and Samsung plasma ... and Playstation 3!
If people want to hear the B&W, KEF, Monitor Audio sub/sat - let them.

You're even more idiotic in my books if you think that I think single driver satellites are 1 way. I even told you earlier this morning, "Don't think you've struck gold" when you stated this. I've known it all along? Your memory swapped that quickly? The whole problem is that they are 2 way... My whole entire point revolves around this!

I have absolutely no idea what your PS3 reference is about. I've never owned one, not even a PS1 or PS2, and I've certainly never been vocal about the PS3 on these forums? I have no interest in console gaming, why do you keep bringing it up?

Disclaimer: Ok, totally off topic and really just my opinion based on what I still remember from the last time I read up on it.
Some of the "best speakers in the world" actually use single full range drivers, Tannoy has built some really good ones, Omega etc. Some seriously good horn designs use single full range drivers. The electronic crossover (needed for multiple drivers) is still seen as one of the most evil things in audio. Multiple drivers also require better, more complicated case designs. There are a lot of really good electrostatic speakers that use one driver for treble and mid, only leaving bass for a traditional driver. IMO, the "best" speaker would use one full range driver, all your frequencies would originate from one point and there would be no inefficient crossover wasting some of the work done by your amp.
I like the aesthetics of nice big multiple driver floorstanders, though. Seeing my KEF iQ9's adds a nice little placebo effect for me. My dream stereo setup would have Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage.
For anybody with space constraints, nothing wrong with going with a sat sub setup. The KEF eggs are brilliant and even the Logitech 5500 ( not sure about model number now).

Means nothing to me, my room isn't bright, nor are most people's who have curtains... Dynamic contrast for the most part is meaningless...

Nah, sorry, have no idea. The audiophiles will never agree on just one. But sure, most of them would be multiple driver speakers, but you'll also find some single driver horn speakers on that list.
For me, these http://www.sumikoaudio.net/sonus/prod_stradivari.htm would be the best. Never heard 'em, but hell, just LOOK at them.

His world currently consists on dull, lifeless, grey LCDs that any plasma is superior to. When it comes to sound, the larger the cabinet and more drivers, the better.

I read about that, you have to get into the service menu, this resets your current picture settings though... And I think it voids warranty as there are a ton of settings that can screw up your tv if you change them...

Hey, FYI I bought a Hisense 32 Inch LCD from HI Fi Corp late 2007, 2 years later (2009) the darn thing packs up and I get no picture/sound! Take it back to HI FI and get told that my warranty expired, but had I purchased a few months later in 2008 I would've have a gotten a 3 year warranty!!!!!
So I pay for the repair (R3500 btw) and TV works again until last night I get home, same damn problem no picture but I get sound.
It seems Hisense LCD's only last 2 years! Definitely wont get one of those ever again!
