So the house I bought seems to have a way to hook up a generator. See the pics. These are all outside the house.

Question I have is I want to hook up a power trolley or inverter with some batteries. Can I reuse this setup?

I am only looking to run the lights (all led) TV, router etc. Maybe a few plug points for baby monitor.

What are my options, approx cost (my budget is about R20k to R30k). Next step to determine what this generator box (don't know what to call it is hooked up to) etc?

Apologies very big noob to this stuff. 20221210_115420.jpg20221210_115526.jpg20221210_115449.jpg

sh6t .get an electrician out that is so far off code .if you survive the bang your insurance probably wont pay out .

Get an electrician out there asap to sort that out.

But if you plan on using a generator, that will work. Just needs to be rewired properly

If you are using an inverter. It can be used. But it would be better to have the loads that require to be on to be connected to the inverter and be online all the time so that you don’t get any down time

You can PM @DuracellBunny to sort you out with an inverter system
