Does anyone know of a decent place in the Kempton Park area that services/repairs home generators? I have a Chinese knockoff (Schultz Power Tools 5.5KW) that is working perfectly but will require a service pretty soon as Escum has forced my hand to use it more often!
Ideally I would like to have things like the carburetor serviced and not sure if there is valve clearances that perhaps need to be checked/adjusted.

Sorry for off topic. Is that the brand from Checkers?
I take it that it has performed well for you?

If I remember correctly, I bought it from Game. The gennie is 3 years old and still purrs. I have changed things like air filter, oil and spark plug but would like the carburetor to be serviced as the fuel quality in SA can be a bit dodgy at times. Would also be nice to see that the gennie is still outputting at 50Hz as I read somewhere that the speed of the motor has a relationship with the Hertz output?

What you have done is all that is necessary to service it. If the carburettor is not giving problems, do NOT mess with it. As long as you allow the carburettor to run dry by turning the fuel tap off instead of switching the engine off after use the carburettor should stay clean and won't give problems. The 5.5 Kw gennie I bought in 2007 was sold in February in perfect running order and it was never needed to touch the carburettor. If it has been standing for a long time (6 months or longer) it's advisable to drain the fuel tank and use fresh petrol.
