Folks, I've got 5.5kw Genny with two outlets which connect to a single cable going to the house transfer switch. I need to join the two cabtyre cables to the single norse cable legally. Currently they're joined with crimped ferrules in a JB and covered with heat shrink. The cabtyre is 4mm and Norse 8mm.
I did speak to the local electrical distributer... They said "were not electrician so we don't know" !!!!
Cheers

So on another forum, the electricians were discussing how retailers were selling portable generators as house standby generators, and expecting the electrician to connect it. There is some serious safety concerns. Some were only installing the transfer switch. If the home owner decides to connect a generator, it is not their responsibility.

You have a transfer switch, why did the electrician not install the generator?

I installed the transfer switch. I'm familiar with industrial low voltage electrics.
I'm thinking of using a 32A 2 pole industrial socket connected directly to the Genny outlet and a plug on a small box connected to the Norse.
That will be safe, and hopefully legal.
