Gerard (BSc and CTA (UK)) is the leader of the Gauteng Indirect Tax practice and the deputy leader of the Tax Services division in Gauteng at PWC. Gerard joined the firm as a partner in December 2002 after having previously been a partner with another international accounting firm. He is an experienced tax practitioner specializing in VAT consulting. He worked initially for HM Customs & Excise in the UK for 3 years as a Tax auditor before joining the profession. He is a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Tax and has over 23 years' experience of advising clients, both in the UK and South Africa, on indirect tax matters, more specifically, clients in the telecommunications, information technology and financial services industries. He has had particular responsibility for network operators and equipment suppliers, banking and capital markets and insurance clients.
