Germany is debating whether to ban the far-Right Alternative for Germany (AfD) as the party surges to 21 per cent in the polls, amid warnings from intelligence officials that its members are becoming increasingly extreme.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the German president, warned in a speech to the country’s domestic intelligence agency that “we all have it in our hands to put those who despise our democracy in their place”.

His speech at the castle where the German post-war constitution was created has widely been seen as support for a ban after Thomas Haldenwang, the domestic spy chief, warned about growing Right-wing extremist influence in the party.

I think conservative views will inevitably make a comeback as the world gets more woke and the effects thereof become apparent.

That said, I don't know anything about the AfD and how far to the extremist side they are.

Same thing happening in America today, only they have not yet called for banning the Republican party as yet. But, the Biden regime has laid the groundwork for this by referring to the whole party as extreme MAGA supporters and calling them far right extremists. I expect something similar to happen in the near future there too.

Dangerous times ahead for the world.

Didn't America ban communism?

Wouldn't this be the equivalent of that?

It is next to impossible to ban the Republican Party. It is impossible to ban either the Reps or Dems.

Far too many vested interests (lobbyists) in both parties and you'd cause chaos in the states where they govern.

The person who attempts to ban either party would be making the worst political decision in US history after the south's attempt to secede.
