Gerrard vs Lampard

To me, honestly, his "great" season was 2005. When he netted those two goals to clinch us the league - he was idol worshiped. though on the balance of it, 2006 was better in general terms. You are right that he sucked in 2007, but only because he was injury-prone for some obscure reason. Look at it this way, it was his first sub-31 game league season since 96/97... Where he is usually ever present, he was not noticed and that maybe led to him being labeled as having a sucky season (all things are relative after all)...

Yeah - I remember that goal as well... *sigh*

Point is - the team got on without him, whereas this season everything hinges on him (and as an aging midfielder - that's a problem) and if he didn't play a game, or was slightly off-colour (no one has 40 brilliant games) we sucked big time. Ballack/Malouda/Mikel were pathetic without Lamps holding them together. We also missed Cole, who takes a bit of pressure off of Lampard.

Joe Cole was always my favourite Chelsea player. He deserves to play in La Liga.

Only player who has some rresemblance to La Liga players - very stylish :D

Who is Lampard's replacement? Any idea?

Hmmm.... Dunno tbh. Don't have control of my DSTV. What the customers want and all that... So I haven't matched many Chelsea Youth Games :(...

Coles replacement however, is Stoch - just hope he gets a few games under his belt. He has really impressed me with what little time he has been given. We looked a completely different team when he was punted onto the field by Scolari. Maybe he isn't physically ready? Dunno...

I thought Gerrard was totally out of the game last night. I will give last night to Lampard. He had more of an impact on the game, even tho he had some poor touches he still managed to control Chelsea.

i think why lampard had more influence was because Monsterano wasnt playing ,and Essien did a fantastic man marking job on Superman :D

Essien aka Doomsday (from "The Death of Superman" series):D

Wrong! Essien was kryptonite. Ivanovic was Doomsday...no supes and he went on a path of destruction! :D
No No! Ivanovic was Lex Luther, scoring while Doomsday disposed of Superman!;)

True, but it was with different powers and a long time after that defeat.

Do not mess with "teh komikz fanboy"
Thats true and he returned at 62% capacity (just another thing I'm fanboytastic at smokey;))

Haven't watched since e15s8... All I can say is that I'm glad Lana is never going to come back (though with these things... there's always a way...)
