Getaway destinations near CT?

I'm feeling that Mid-year burnout pushing along so Im thinking of going a way for a weekend with my Whaaf and Kiddo.

I am looking for recommendations on a lodge/cottage/cabin or something that's:
- Affordable but still lekka
- Child Friendly
- Away form the city vibe for 2 nights

Just need to get away for a short rest without the outside noise

Any recommendations would be appreciated!!

Highly recommend https://leeuwenboschfontein.co.za/ even if you don't have a 4x4!

It's a 2.5 hr drive from CT.

Quiet, great campsites, nice cottages, swings & big lawns for the kids, etc.

Take your mountain bikes, hiking shoes, and plenty of warm clothes. Pack plenty of braai stuff and off you go.

Also check out www.landmeterskop.com if your into farm life. Been there a couple of times. Amazing place to just get away from it all, and lots of interaction with the farm animals for kids.
