My line is gonna get upgraded to 4meg sometime next week. I was just wondering how do you guys go about getting 640k switched on if your exchange supports it, instead of the 512k upload they enable by default?

I know there used to be a telkom guy onthe furoms that used to do it. How would I go about getting it though?

On the "up to 4mbps" ADSL service the minimum upload speed is defaulted to 640kbps.

Default is 512k upload on 4Mbps. There was a guy here on these threads who worked for Telkom and had access to the ESR to change upstream to 640k.... I was one of those :) he's gone now, so good luck xD

Now you only get 640kbps upload if you're lucky. The same goes for the people on the 512kbps ADSL lines sometimes get lucky when their lines sync at 640kbps down...

Well they upgraded my line today and I see my upload is set to 512. Luckily I work for an isp. Will see if logging a call asking them to upgrade the upload will work or get them to tell me to stuff off...

Sigh.

Mwebs 4meg accounts only support 512 upload and not 640k.

sigh.

So I may as well just leave it.

Sigh. I'm having problems with my line.

Has extremely high packet loss and resyncs the whole time even though my line stats are fine.

Just called then now to ask then to set my port speed to 3meg to see if it helps.

Sigh.
