Getting a domestic for the first time

So we have finally bitten the bullet and decided we need help in our home. Nothing major, no ironing, no washing, just general house keeping, once a week from 8 to 4. We have found a lady who would only require us to provide coffee tea and milk. What is the going rate per day? We are in the Durban Upper Highway area. Also, would I need to register her? Any other tips for first time employers? I am going to ask for a photocopy of her ID but should I be asking or providing anything else?

You can go to your local SAPS with the ID and check for anything.

Where did you make contact and how.

Don't just trust anyone and let them free in your home. You might come home to a empty one.

She was recommended on Facebook on our local group by her current employer and has worked for her whilst her full time domestic was on maternity leave. She even asked me to let her know what I think of her and offered to drop her off on the first day. Is doing a check on someone without their knowledge legal?
