Getting a Telkom Line

So the apartment that I currently live in has a physical Telkom Line installed, however when the old tenant moved out he "took" his number with him.

Now the time has come for me to get ADSL and from what it seems after talking to Telkom, I have to pay for a new line to be installed is this correct??

If so does anyone know how long this usually takes?

Mine took less than 1 week from my application date.

Go for the telkom simple deal (10gb) or simple plus deal (20gb). The installation is free, they give you a router free and a 3g modem and sim with a bit of data (100mb/month for a year)

There is no minimum contract period
