Getting an EB license. ("Upgrading" from a code B license)

AFAIK you can if it's an old license (before 1 Feb 2011) but not for a new license

Except that amendment never came into effect. Hence the large volume of Code 10 learner drivers still clogging up our roads.

@skim. I can't remember the dates offhand. Was your very first drivers licence a card or in your ID book? If it was a card you got the new Code B.

Light truck license I think but they plugged that hole a while back and you are no longer allowed to drive a car with one.

Heavy truck think EC1 or EC.

If you have that you can drive any of the below licenses appart from a motorcycle.

The irony of this is that people who did their K53 drivers licence test before the licence card system was introduced automatically have an EB rating. However, those who did the identical test after the card system was introduced only have a B rating. I say it's all a money making thing

I have replaced my ID book after it got lost so can't remember if there was something in there. I can also not remember if my first license was a card license or a piece of paper. My drivers license says issues 3/1998 so AFAIK I am borderline but don't know either way

Sounds like you were a B. Would need your ID number to check further. Although there were no issues with incorrect conversions as far as I know.

1998 would have been a card issue. No ID book or what not. It was a card and you stuck with code B.
