Getting an SMS from a number in Niger

Hi there,

I would like to find out if anybody is also getting an SMS alert from a number in Niger (+227)? This is the second time I have received this sms asking me to verify details. First thought I have when I see this is that it is a scam. SO the first time I got this sms I deleted the message, but this time that I got it, I decided to give Vodacom a call and see if they can do anything about it. The answer that I got was that they know about the scam but they can not do anything as I have to first go to the police to report it.

I just want to know if anyone else has gotten these kind of emails?
 
I think I have - I recall looking up the +227 code a while ago, though I can't remember what the message was.. but it was something scammy sounding.
