Getting around iBursts block on torrents?

I've already had a read through the thread about using Tor, and I am still trying to get it working.

What I'd like to know is, is there any other way to get around this pathetic service provider? I think it's disgusting that we pay so much per month for our bandwidth, and yet they decide what we can do with it.
 
The BLOCK on Torrents is SUPPOSEDLY not intentional. It's an actual issue iBurst have told me they're "working on", though if we all don't continue bitching at them about it they'll probably figure it works nicer this way and leave it.

So my advice is constantly call/email them to find out whats happening with the p2p situation.
 
I have also complained to them, and they have "opened a ticket" to fix it. To be honest, this is OBVIOUSLY intentional. I will keep bugging them though, and have also complained on hellopeter.com.

I don't think there is any block on Torrents.

Mine still work fine, as do all my P2P apps, so I guess this is another JHB proxy problem? I doubt they intentionally blocked just JHB torrents from their network, and they were never blocked before.

All P2P is meant to run at the 64kb shaped speed for shaped ports, so 6kb sounds normal enough for Limewire, but then again I have also got much higher speeds on Limewire in any case..
 
I am in CPT for the week, from JHB.

The torrents that refuse to download at home work fine here. (25kb +)

Yet another reason to move to the Cape?
 
Sounds like their whole system up north is a incredible inconvenience.

You guys are always having some or other problem with rapidshare or random websites :(
 
Oh and also, I don't exactly see this listed on their 'incident report' page, so i seriously doubt they're even working on anything to fix this.
 
Seemed fine on Saturday afternoon, and Friday night I was pulling 70kbit/sec per torrent. Dunno what you people are complaining about... There was a stage a week ago when torrents were teh suxxor but they're fine now.

Still problems on Monday - I can now connect to trackers without the use of Tor (previously couldn't), but speeds are still <1KB/s
