Getting Around On Trains?

What is the procedure if I want to take a train from one destination to the other?

Our car has been stolen and I have to visit someone in another city quite urgently.

Take a greyhound bus rather.

Go to your nearest train station and buy a return ticket to your destination, get on the train when it arrives at the station etc. etc.

I took a train 2 years back and it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. You just go to the station, buy a ticket, wait for the train, get in and get off.

My grand mother wants to take a train ride someplace. I want to treat her with a suprise trip somewhere. But don't know when or where hehe.


Cheers for all replies we've decided to donate our bus ticket fees for my brother who is leaving for canada. Instead of taking a bus out instead.
