I think I am starting to be a bit of a fat cat...

It's not that bad yet, but the way things are going I'll be like Malema soon.

I have not made any eating, lifestyle changes, I don't know what's causing this...

What to do? I go to gym every third day....

Go every second day... Maybe you have SDIA?

what is SDIA... ? AIDS???!!! No, not me... I test every now and then... I just took a policy with liberty life and they did the test...

i moved from pta north to centurion recently, could that be the cause? is centurion fatning... LOL!

Ideally you shoud gym every day for about 45min with 1 rest day.
Then only would you see the kilos come off.
This 3 times (Mon,Wed,Fri)story is a big hoax.

Wow you go to gym twice a week, why is it you don't tell us what you eat?

There is pretty much no point going to gym if you eat like a pig, some people think o i will eat like a pig and then go burn it off in the gym.

They end up fat. Get your diet right because no amount of gym will help you lose weight if you stuff your face full of rubbish all day.

You should go to gym with the intention of increasing your metabolism. Because as you get older it will slow down :)

Running and many forms of cardio is as far as I know the worst way to intentionally lose weight, because you are only increasing your metabolism while you run - as soon as you stop running your body just cools down again. You would need to run at least an hour or two a day at minimum for it to be effective. But it is good for fitness of course and that isn't a bad thing.

But the best way to up your metabolism is to work on large muscle groups. This is why it is NB not to avoid leg exersizes either like many of us do :) then you would be effectively losing weight even outside of the gym as those large muscle groups demand more fuel to repair.

stress, lack of sleep, eating more or differently, drinking more etc all will cause you gain weight.

also getting older doesn't help, as your metabolism slows

I agree with your first sentence, I have been a bit stressed, but I am fine now... but I'm only 28 and i don't think it's the age... must be the stress and a bit of lack of sleep...

If you decide to start running you have to do it properly if you want to shed weight.

You need to do your normal runs, interval runs and long runs.

Slightly Off topic - what is the differences between normal runs, interval runs and long runs?

How many Km's would you need to do for each?

Thyroid?

Mine broke and I picked up 10kgs a month. After the 3rd month I went to the doctor and told them to sew my mouth shut. :D

Remember if you test for this make them do both tests. Not just one.
One they test for the hormone your brain gives to your thyroid to work and the other your thyroid self.
