Hi there. I know in south africa it's quite the norm to wait up to what 2 months for your adsl installation.

I need my adsl to be installed a crap load faster. Does anyone know any numbers to phone at telkom or even a contracted in company to get your adsl sorted faster?

I know the normal support number but was wondering if someone knows any..extras :)

Well thanks in advance

Hey,

I know two people now who live in different parts of Cape Town (one in town and one in northern suburbs) who got their adsl line (both with no telephone line before) sorted in about 14 days. Hopefully that's a sign that telkom has improved their installation time. Good luck man.

Well I traced to where the hold up is in my order and it seems their waiting for networks to allocate a port for me. Now when they do one day decide to do it i think the rest will go faster............hopefully...........most likely not......prbly gonna get billed for waiting also.........with a cap on calls.........fsck it.

If your employer has, or if you have a friend whose employer has, a lot of data lines, there will be a Telkom Corporate Account Manager and a Service Management Specialist assigned to said employer's Telkom account. Such people have been known to produce ports out of thin air on occasion.
