Si I've been really thinking of doing a Bsc in computing.

The problem is I've done maths literacy in matric. I've scoured this forum for answers, but a lot of it is outdated.

What route would I take?
- I've tried just applying to see what they would say, no response.
- I'm trying to apply for the amended matric exams in may to write the maths exam. My application has been sitting for weeks with no update, ive tried emailing them and nothing.
-I've tried to email unisa about a mature age matric exemption (I'm 27), no response yet.

Is it possible for me to maybe start a diploma and move into bsc computing? How long would that take?

I'm starting to lose hope.

Personally, I redid matric maths to get in. Far better to face the problem head on than to try get around the requirements. There’s a reason they’re there.

I could swear there used to be a math mark requirement underneath the degree when I applied in 2015, but I only see a requirement for CAT and IT now.

If you've already applied for the Degree then you should have a response before the beginning of 2020, IIRC my acceptance came through around mid December having applied in August or something.

My sister tried applying for a BSC Zoology degree however her Physics mark is too low, so they told her to do a higher certificate for a year in Physics and then apply for the BSc. I'm sure it would work with a Diploma too.

Hope some of this helps.

I just got accepted to write it next may. Kind of freaking out about it, its a lot to take in. But I'm a lot more mature now, I'm sure I'll take it in way better than 11 years ago

Thanks man, still haven't heard anything, but it will be nice to hear what they have to say either way.

I recommend doing a bunch of exam papers until you understand every question and answer in them.

Had the same problem, just had to do Mat0511 in addition to the other modules.

Here's a sexy tannie that teaches you all you need to know about matric math
