Getting RICA compliant

I think we might want to sticky this for everyone. I had to do same for Screamer Wimax.

I don't know why everyone is getting so excited?

Obviously this not yet an issue for iBurst yet - I've not received any correspondence yet that I need to act.

If it is'nt an issue for iBurst, why should anyone else care?

just a quick question, how is iBurst notifying people who do not use MB forums? most of the people i know that use iBurst have no idea about the RICA factor.

Bierrie,
The feedback is that we will have the ability to assist people at physical locations by March. In the mean time you can optionally post copies of the required documents to:
Head: iBurst RICA
PO Box 651921
Benmore 2010

Any advance on this? Any way the check current status on the iBurst web site?

I see bubbles woke up and posted this on the website

RICA and iBurst Customers
Last edited 2011-06-30T13:07:45
Don’t Panic! We are experiencing high call volumes and queries regarding RICA.

While RICA does apply to telecommunications providers, such as iBurst, it is specifically aimed at voice providers, such as MTN, Vodacom and Cell C so if you are an iBurst customer, and use one of our HSDPA products, such as the Cell C or Vodacom (old iBurst customers only) products, you will be affected.

Lets repeat that: ONLY the HSDPA customers need to ensure RICA-compliance by midnight, 30 June, in order to remain active.

All our customers using other products, such as the iBurst Wireless range, Metronet or WDSL will not be cut off at midnight if they are not RICA-compliant.

Our showroom staff are all RICA agents, and can assist you to get your iBurst Cell C HSDPA or iBurst Vodacom HSDPA RICAd bring the necessary documentation (proof of residence and your bar-coded identity document) to our showroom at 3012A William Nicol, Bryanston.

Kind regards,
The iBurst Team
