Getting slow Torrents with your ISP?

Weird question, but how does usenet work? By that I mean, where are the files you download coming from? With torrents your pulling the files from other peoples' PCs. Seeing as new NZBs are maxing out my line, unlike torrents which are slow as hell for the first few weeks, I'm assuming NZBs do not work the same, but where are you pulling the files from?

Urgh, a subscription for a search engine. /dies...

nzbclub It's free, and decent

I used it for a while, RSS feed is useful when set up with SAB, but the site works well otherwise

I eventually paid for NZBmatrix (really $10 for ten year subscription, really not that bad) when I set up Sickbeard

Forgive me, I'm a complete usenet noob. I'm content with torrents and its the cost that puts me off. The costs are paid to who exactly ? Cause if theres a way to get all this going for zero cost other that internet fees... Then I'm interested. I'm with Web Africa.

I use a local NZB tracker and ISP news server (SAIX) I.E. no cost other than internet.
