Any tips on how to get started with C#, learning and obtaining qualification?

for windows mobile? anyway if you're going web install web matrix, a free ms lightweight web dev environment.

head over to asp.net and watch their MVC music store video series for a nice intro

yep... i guess, want to start somewhere, i believe to learn the iOS side i need to have mac, the android is free so will look into that aswell. will try those videos on asp.net thanks

Install the free version of C# - search online for some tutorials and if you need an answer to a q then stackoverflow is your best bet.

Yeah, avoid the MVC, ASP.NET, mobile etc. stuff for now. Get going on the console apps and learn the language and then go mess around with the fun stuff.

Is the free version express ones?

Yes. You can also look at SharpDevelop if VC Express doesn't work for you.

Once you're familiar with C#, check out Xamarin, a C# cross-platform mobile app dev environment.

If you pay, it integrates with VS, else it has its own IDE
