Everyone I really need some help,

My mom runs a veterinary clinic and their Telephone line has been down since about Friday, Telkom just doesn't give a crap, it happens every time there is rain and they claim it's lightning but honestly lightning doesn't even have to strike for the line to go down.

They MUST have a phone line there, people can't phone them and they can't even contact Pharmaceutical Companies to order essential drugs or Laboratories for test results. Not to mention that people think the clinic is closed because they get a line busy tone the whole time and end up driving to Onderstepoort, who sent out letters stating they are overworked!

If there is any kind of inside secret to getting them to just come fix the line please enlighten me?!

It's 2x Telkom Business Line + a PABX all rented from Telkom for a ridiculesly large amount of money each month.

You can keep a log of the times the line was not working - and refuse to pay for those days.

Second option - install a premicell as backup. Basically this is a special cellphone which is connected to the PABX (if the PABX will be able to support it) so you can make LCR (least cost routing) to cellphone networks should the need arise.

You mean besides ripping ZA off?

Well couldn't think of a title, my Mom is so fed up with the electricity + Telkom she's thinking of closing her practice this year so I'm just trying to help her...

Anyway thanks for the info, that cell thing sounds good...
