Geyser doesn't fit in apartment

Hectic that is tight. I can't think of a solution that won't cost a lot in labour and effort. But yes, will have to find a new location for the geyser or mount it below ceiling against the wall.

Best idea yet!

Didn't the old building have this?

In our complex, the ground floor units geysers are all 100l units and they are mounted on brackets above the bath against the ceiling.

I'm not too clued up with the gas installation standars and laws, but could one not consider an internal gas geyser with a small gas cylinder?

When me and my sis first moved into the new house the cottage where I moved in had a big wooden enclosure (cupboard) mounted on the wall above the loo. It was unsightly but it worked. Though going to the bathroom in the morning while still half asleep and getting up and bashing your head against it was not lekker lol.

When we had the entire cottage redone the geyser now sits on top of the roof (though this is not a solution for you). Can you not install one of those instant water heaters?
