Geyser tripping EL

this morning, EL started tripping...isolated issue to the geyser, trips when geyser circuit breaker is flipped to on.. am I looking at thermostat replacement or something else. Input would be appreciated.

Yep, reckon it's the thermostat. Mine did exact same thing last month.

Element.....needs replacing....

Sorry for my delay in updating...so it was the element. Replaced and a week later the therostat packs in... Couple of days without the geyser sucking the electricity, made a compelling argument to get an alternative water heating solution. Never realised that the main driver of electrical bill was the geyser. Will effectively save around R1000.00 a month. Settled on a 16L gas powered geyser. Installation + plumber's fees comes to about 9k - in 9 months this thing would have paid for itself.

You still need to factor in gas so more than nine months. Still cheaper than electricity though.

Element and thermostat got to be replaced together along with the gasket all of these items work hand in hand....

Just replace both the element and the thermostat whilst you are there.
