Size is a ratio to the number of people in the place, cost is a ratio to the size + plumbing, solar in most instances is complimentary to an electric anyway and you'll want a high pressure geyser.

Well, it all depends on cost and how much you would be willing to spend.
Solar is not a bad way to go, but the installation is the most important part about solar. Installing the most expencive system behind a tree is not very bright, you know?
Or to enable you to catch the most rays, have it so far away you have to drain like 50l of water before it gets hot.
I have both solar and gas at home. I use the gas for showers only, and I must say it is great!
Solar is 200l so there is enough for just one bath at a time. Also do not expect to bath at night and have a shower in the morning from the same system. They good, but can not do miricales.
