Hi guys.

Have the currently problem with my system. System was fine till this morning then suddenly when running just a game trailer the gfx driver failed and recovered, happened twice. Third time it couldn't recover and system froze and blue screen of death.

Ever since then except for a very short period whenever I try and load a 3d ap the system totally crashes. Tried 3 different driver sets, 160.99,160.89 and the default windows 7 drivers. Haven't tried reformatting , busy with it as we speak.

Am I right in thinking its gfx which is totally going?? If it is what card do you guys recommend I replace it with? I was planning to get a total new system in july and give this old one to my dad. So the question is do I get a high end card now or just a midrange(R2000) for now??

Also anyone knows who is the local evga supplier, as far as I know my card has a 10 year warranty so still want to use that even if I do replace this one anyway. I know its fox something but can't remember the whole name.

My system specs: Intel core 2duo e8500, asus p5n32e sli, evga geforce 260gtx, 4 gig ocz reaper ram, windows 7 x64 home premium.

Any help would be great.

Before we all go off on a tangent here lets wait and see what happens.

Actually got worse. It now crashes even before using any 3d apps. Blue screen also seems to indicate gfx, refers to nvlddkm.sys

If you google that you will find lots of people with that error.

Test your gpu hardware with Microscope diagnostics suite.

Where would I get it?? Any place where I can get for free or a decent price, $299 is what google search finds.

Good news and bad news guys. Good news its the ram, bad news the company I bought the ram from seems to be out of business. I bought my OCZ reapers from SA labs but neither the www.salabs.co.za or www.pclabs.co.za loads and no one answers when calling the number I have for them.

The ram is under life time warranty. So will contact foxcompt and see what they say, not sure they were the supplier of ocz when this ram was bought but might as well try, going directly to ocz is going to be expensive since they don't even pay for shipping back to SA in their list of countries.

Any recommendations for ddr2 ram?? Have had team 800 mhz fail on me and ocz reapers in the last year?? Since I am getting a new pc in july I would like solid ram. Also probably should stick to 800 mhz since this mobo doesn't really like any above that, had to run the reapers in 800 mhz even though it could handle 1066mhz.

Btw. Anyone tell me for future reference how I can get the iso's for memtest to work?? Would have saved me the callout fee. Couldn't get either the iso or the usb installer to boot yesterday.
