Ghana vs Australia

c'mon! Ghana are owning! I want them to beat these sheepshaggers!

Fail for Ghana, they where getting pushed back by 10 men. They are at the top of the group by a margin.

This group is still wide open, if Germany & Serbia win the next game it's lights out for Ghana.

Still only one win for an African team and is this now the 10th or 11th match that an African team has been involved in?

How you don't win when you have a numerical advantage for 45 mins is beyond me...

The african teams at this world cup are failing hard,at the moment theres not even 1 african team that is guerenteed to go to round 2.In fact none look likely to qualify.

Except for Ghana(not qualified but doing well) even though they face Germany in last match(Germany bring on Cacau you will win).
Even Argentina are not guaranteed to go through, only Netherlands for now so it's still early.Wait for Ivory Coast too, if two african countries qualify for next round then it's an improvement.

Kewell's been getting a hammering in the press lately for the fact that his reputation outlives his current input. So he gets a chance at long last after injury and the trouble follows him. Nothing much he could do with a ball hammerred from such a short distance, and the rules are not clear cut about red carding, i.e. it has to be deemed "deliberate", and even you Aussie bashers and me as a 'Kewell basher" can't say that it was.
However a ref is never going to change his call, and FIFA needs to make such farces less 'black and white" i.e. even if it is a penalty (which it was) then it shouldn't necessarily mean 'red'.
Even further, if a ball has been prevented from crossing the line by an accidental 'handball' then quite simply a goal should be awarded, because a penalty can still be saved/missed.

Anyway, you boys went quiet when you saw how they outplayed 11 men with 10 for 65min, well played. Now how did Bafana Bafana go after going dwon to 10 men again???

The Aussies also have more players that have succeeded overseas...how is it that SA with the sport so popular cannot have the same??

Aussie we OK with having a poor footie team dude, we got rugga and cricket to support so ya bafana is a fail but we still support em.

Ghana were shocking also had 3 key players missing. The aussies would have beaten them with 11 men. Trouble with the sending off is his hands should have been behind his body. It looked even on the replay as though he stopped it with his arm. While it was a bit harsh it is the risk you take. You have a split second to decide let them score or risk getting send off, he chose wrong. Generally a hand ball like that will produce red.
